About Me

I authored my first book about a mouse named Eugene when I was three. I was no prodigy. I did what any aspiring writer of that age would do. I dictated a sentence for each page to my mother and made up for lack of writing skill with fabulous illustrations.

Today, I write my stories without my maternal scribe (sans illustrations). I published a few short essays in Baltimore's now defunct Urbanite and another in the online literary travel journal, Outside In. I have a master's in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University.

Other things about me? I can't spell the word "separate" without looking it up. I have a wickedly good aim with a Nerf gun. I have more books than just about anything else. . . except maybe freckles, chapstick and colored pens.
