Beginnings

I've been thinking for some time of writing a book on day trips. I even came up with the title, "Pick Your Feet Up," based on a wishing game we played whenever our car crossed railway tracks.

My idea was to combine "how to" with travel and memoir. I was excited by the idea, but troubled with the execution. My idea was big and unfocused. I couldn't seem to narrow it to book-size. I wanted pictures and links, stories and explanations, interviews and adventure. The original idea grew from a book to a whole library.

And then it came to me, how about a blog?

Eureka!
And here we are.
