Maryland Day: Three Hundred and Eighty

March 25 marks the day 150 colonists set foot on St. Clement's Island and founded the colony of Maryland.

My ancestors weren't on those first two boats, but the family joke is they were on the next one out.

Happy 380th Birthday, Maryland!

Rolling Along

To celebrate a certain old woman's birthday, the boys and I went rollerskating. I'm fairly certain it's been 25 years since my last skate outing.  I was told it was like riding a bike: you jump on and it all comes back.

For the record, that is not the case. Rollerskating is not a skill you retain.

Still, despite the wobbling, clinging to the wall and occasional spill, we had a great time.

And no, I did not use a "skate mate." Wobbly old women have some pride.

Photo Friday: Ten

That smile has been turning me to goo for a decade.  I can't believe he's that old. I can't believe I ever had joy without him.

Nine

I was going to introduce a new weekly theme, "Wildlife Wednesdays", but that will have to wait. A more important post trumps any new introductions.

My big boy. . .

. . . whose smile lights up a room. . .

. . . whose eyes will melt your heart. . .

. . . and whose intellect will amaze you. . .

turns nine today.

Happy birthday, you wonderful boy!
